Learn to share conservation with children: Professional Development for anyone who works with children
Learn how to teach young people about ecology and wildlife using fun, hands-on educational activities. During the 7 hour workshop, participants will sample activities and receive both Project WILD and Growing Up WILD curriculum and activity guides. Activities are adaptable for all grade levels, integrated with core subject curricula and aligned to the TEKS.
This workshop is created and designed for the future teachers enrolled in education courses at UTSA. It is open to the public and all are welcome, but be forewarned that most of your fellow participants will be attending with their classmates.
Workshop participants receive:
- 7 hours TEA-approved CPE and TEEAC Credit
- Project WILD K-12 and Growing Up WILD Early Childhood guides
- Texas-specific resources
Open to teachers, informal educators and youth group leaders, this training provides TEA certified CPEs and TEEAC credit.
- Bring a sack lunch
- Bring drinking water for yourself
- Dress for the weather - you will be outside
- Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes (not cowboy boots) - everyone will be running and playing in the park
