Description:

Join a park ranger for a story reading about entomologist Charles Henry Turner. Then, explore the area for insects and enjoy insect coloring pages.

Hear a true story about a biologist and his discoveries. Then, explore the area to see how many insects you can find. Download the Seek by iNaturalist app on your phone before arriving to help identify your observations (recommended but not required).

Insect coloring pages will also be available including crayon rubbing plates and monarch mask making activities.

Where: Meet in the pollinator garden near HQ. Limited picnic table seating is available; bringing a folding chair is recommended, but not required.

Reminders: Bring water and dress for the weather.

Cost: Free with park admission ($6 for visitors 13 years old and older, free for visitors 12 years old and under; free with Texas State Parks Pass).
