Join us for a nature hike at the beautiful Bauer Unit!

Join us for a hike at the Bauer Unit, and find out more about the plants and animals that live there. This beautiful trail is about 3.5 miles round-trip and is moderate in nature. Most of it is flat, but there are some mild slopes, some steep rocky hillsides, and rocky areas.  All ages welcome!

Bring a lunch! Wear close-toed shoes, dress for the weather, and bring drinking water.

Please remember there are no restrooms, running water, or trash cans at the Bauer Unit, so please plan accordingly! 

Meet at the Bauer Unit parking lot at 10 am sharp! 

Directions to the Bauer Unit:

From the park, Turn right onto Highway 46 from Park Road 31. Go 3 miles and turn right on FM 3351. Go approximately 3.5 miles and turn right on Edge Falls Road. Continue for 2.4 miles and turn right on Acker Road. Go 2.2 miles to entrance.

Allow approximately 20-30 minutes to drive from Park Headquarters to the Bauer Unit parking lot.
